Raleigh Hills School Auction Items - First Grade - Ms. Robertson

These "bug lights" were made by Ms. Robertson's first grade class. Each child made a glass bug that was fused and then adhered to two lanterns from Ikea.  The handles aren't quite strong enough to hang them. These will work better on a table or shelf.  Room enough for a 10" candle or lights.

Auction Project - Glass Trees Candle Holder

We are fortunate to have a kiln and some fundraisers for stocking the kiln room with more glass.  These allow us to create fused glass and small ceramic projects in the classrooms. Our annual auction is upon us.  Tom and I always volunteer for the project.  We enjoy truly letting the students create without too much direction.  We also enjoy bidding on these projects. This year, I had an idea - glass trees as candle holders. 

Dale Chihuly Inspired Project for Students

I spent part of my morning at our daughter's elementary school. I've volunteered for the art/lit coordinator position.  I'm so glad I did.  I had the privilege today of teaching the children about a somewhat local artist that is a favorite, Dale Chihuly.
