Because we had room in the kiln while firing the clocks, we let some of the neighbor students create a bunch of small tiles in glass using scrap glass, frit and stringers all from our inventory we bought at Bullseye Glass during a sale a couple of years ago. We bought the gazebos at Michael's on sale and painted them to go with the finisehd tile collection, and cut strips of clear to fit in between. We bought an expoxy that works well with glass to wood and Liquid nails for glass to glass. Once the panels dried - this was the longest part of the project, aside from kiln firing, we let the students select which would go on which panels. When they originally made their tiles, they didn't give much thought to transluscence, so some didn't work. Also, size was very limited width-wise. They turned out beautiful.
